Kemao Fan Motor (2.0 kW) - Fan Motor Replacement

This process details how to remove/install a Kemao, 2.0kW motor. The steps and information provided above are intended as general guidelines only. Kemao Fan Removal

NOTE: The blades are one piece and are already balanced. DO NOT remove the blades individually. The blades are attached to the motor's shaft and need to be removed and installed on the new motor as one piece like a propeller,

 

1) Turn off miner load following site preferences

 

2) Leave fans running for at least 10 minutes to fully cool down miners

 

3) Use HMI controller to turn off fans 

 

4) Turn off the individual fan breaker for the fan that will be removed. The fans will have labels on the outside of the container showing the fan number.

 

5) Remove zip ties holding attaching the power cord to the fan

 

6) Disconnect the fan from the junction box

From inside the container, unscrew the 2 Phillips head screws on the junction box

Disconnect the terminations from the motor that needs to be replaced

 

 

7) Remove the (8) M8 13mm bolts holding the fan mount

Take caution when removing. The cage, motor, and blades will all still be attached together 

Once removed, place on ground with blades up

 

8) Loosen, DO NOT REMOVE, the M8 (13mm) bolt holding the bearing cover

 

9) Remove the bearing cover

 

10) Pry open locking plate to be able to access and remove the M8 (13mm) bolt.

NOTE: The bolt is reverse threaded

 

11) Remove the blades from the motor and set aside. This will be installed on the new motor

 

12) Turn over motor, shaft facing down, and remove the 4 M10 (10mm) bolts holding the motor to the cage

 

13) Remove motor from fan cage

Once bolts are removed, remove motor from fan cage

 

14) Installation is the reverse of the above
