The process below is for removing good breakers/outlets from a PDU to keep spares on hand in case of any fried outlets or bad breakers. It is always best to keep one complete spare on site to swap while the breaker/outlet is being changed to minimize downtime.

1) The PDU should be uninstalled and not hooked up to power. To remove the PDU from the rack, use PDU Removal and Installation

2) Using a screwdriver, take off the back panel of the PDU be removing all screws

NOTE: There is a screw underneath the warranty label that DOES need to be removed

3) Once the back panel is off, remove the breaker by removing the 2 screws on the front panel of the PDU.

4) Once the screws are removed, the wires connected to the breaker can be accessed easier. Ushing a Phillips screwdriver, disconnect the wires from the breaker and remove the breaker

5) To remove the outlet, disconnect the grounding wire (the breaker wire was already disconnected in Step 5) and cut the feeder wire approximately halfway between the feeder harness and outlet. This will ensure it's easy to install a new outlet.

6) Strip the feeder wire to prepare for the new outlet

7) Once all wires are disconnected, depress the tabs on the top and bottom of the outlet to remove. The outlet comes out from the front of the PDU

8) To remove the wires from a bad outlet, depress the tabs on the terminations and then pull out

9) Here is an example of what the breaker and outlet should look like once removed
